Laurence Thomas was born in a Welsh mining village around 1933. He married at Ilford, Essex in 1960, Barbara A. Best. A retired teacher, as Laurie Thomas he exhibited from 33 St Bartholomew's Lane, Sudbury, Suffolk at the 'Visions of Sudbury' at St Peter's church, Sudbury 2007-2013 and, together with son Brinley Thomas, exhibited at the Secret Garden café in Friars Street, Sudbury in 2008.
