Rachel Ellen Wood, was born at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1966, daughter of John S. Wood and his wife Valerie E. née Jones, who married at Bury St Edmund's in 1965. Rachel paints Plein Air, with landscapes being her passion. The changing light, never knowing quite what may happen, searching for a subject, meeting passers by, all add to the excitement and richness of landscape painting. Her other passion is playing the violin, usually in and around the streets and markets of local towns.
