GREEN, Harry Douglas
Harry Douglas Green was born at Ipswich on 4 October 1870, youngest son of Henry Green, a baker, and his wife Mary Ann née Smyth, who, as Harry Green, he married at Ipswich in 1858. In 1871, young Harry was a newly born, living at Fonnereau Road Baker's Shop, Ipswich with his Ipswich born parents, 38 year old Henry and 39 year old Mary and four siblings and they were still living at 1-3 Fonnereau Road, Ipswich in 1881, with siblings George Smyth Frank 18, born in London, Alice Kate 17, born in Barnet, Polly Florence 13, Gertrude Eliza 12 and Minnie Sarah 9, all Ipswich born. Harry was educated at Ipswich Municipal Secondary School and studied at Ipswich School of Science and Art, obtaining his pass certificate in freehand drawing in 1884 and passing his examinations in 1888. In 1891, a 20-year-old lithographic artist, still at Fonnereau Road with his parents. Harry married at Gloucester in 1896, Caroline (Carrie) Head. Harry Douglas Green died at the home of his father at 290 Woodbridge Road, Ipswich on 11 June 1900, age 29, and was buried in Ipswich Cemetery.
