FREEMAN, Rodney
William Rodney Freeman was born at 49 Graham Road, Ipswich in July 1935, second of the two sons of Charles Henry Freeman (28 November 1895-23 October 1985), a dental surgeon, and his wife Ruth née Collen (12 February 1902-1 December 1990), who married at Chelsea, London in 1929. A former director of Holbrook Academy and, as Rodney Freeman, paints in oil, in a style which is impressionist with subjects found in East Anglia but also from around the world with light on water including landscapes in oil, devoted to scenes on the Stour and Orwell estuaries. He has exhibited at Giffords Hall Vineyard, Hartest, Suffolk and at the Frame Workshop & Gallery, Ipswich. A former member of Suffolk Open Studios from Lavender Cottage, The Street, Harkstead, Ipswich.
