COOPER, Anne
Anne Cooper was born at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk on 31 May 1795, and baptised at St James’s Church, Bury St Edmund’s on 6 August 1801, daughter of Daniel Cooper, a miniature painter and drawing master at Bury Grammar School, and his wife Martha née Hockley, Anne was a brother of Edwin Cooper. Probably taught art by her father and her brother Edwin, she exhibited at the The Norwich Society of Artists in 1822, from Beccles, Suffolk, 'Portrait of a Flower Girl' and in 1824, with no address, 'Portrait of Jonathan Garrard, a Woodman'. She was of Pulham St Mary, Norfolk and, as a retired schoolteacher, Anne Cooper died at her home in Christchurch Street, Ipswich on 26 September 1881, aged 86, she was unmarried.
