MERRISON, Charles Redford
Charles Redford Merrison was born at Hackney, London in August 1879, son of Charles Edwin Merrison (1855-7 December 1933), a merchant's clerk, and his wife Ruth Ann née Redford (1858-19 April 1944), who married at Hackney in 1878. In 1901, Charles was a 21-year-old architect's assistant, living at 26 Maury Road, Hackney with his parents, 46-year-old Charles and 43-year-old Ruth and was still living at his Hackney home in 1911 but by 1921 they had moved to 41 Fountayne Road, Hackney, London. During the 1920s he painted in and around Walberswick, Suffolk and exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1920 and at the London Salon in 1910. Charles Redford Merrison was a retired architect when he died at 17 Eastbury Road, Northwood, Middlesex on 1 July 1964, he was unmarried.
