BERRIDGE, Richard
Richard Martin Berridge was born at 16 Argyll Road, Kensington, London on 11 September 1935, only son of the two children of Capt. Robert Lesley Berridge (19 September 1907-25 February 1983) and his wife Cicely Dorothea née Orme (1911-14 December 2001), who married at Westminster, London on 10 July 1934. Richard was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, at Grenoble University, Grenoble, France and at Madrid University, Madrid. Richard has been drawing steam engines for as long as he can remember, whereas London trams and trolleybuses left him with early memories of the terrors of the descent into the Kingsway tram subway to visit an uncle in Forest Hill, and frequent visits by 662 trolleybuses to an aunt in Harlesden. Not a Suffolk Artist did paint two oils in Ipswich 1984-1985.
