WOLSEY, Dick
Richard Wolsey was born at Drayton, on the outskirts of Norwich in 1959, son of James Henry Wolsey (19 July 1919-23 December 2011) and his wife Joan Pauline née Hall (1921-5 July 2001), who married at Norwich in 1939. Wolsey became frustrated with painting at school and, at the age of 16, gave up on painting until 31 years later in January 2006 when he graduated with a B.A. Art History degree. He married at Acle, Norfolk in 1985, Amanda J. Arnopp and is now a Suffolk based artist and writer living at Worlingham, Suffolk with his wife and two daughters. His enjoyment of colour can be seen in his paintings, verses, and story lines, in painting he works on canvas with themes ranging from natural forms to abstracts or combinations of the two, exploring techniques and approaching different themes as and when appropriate, making his art new, fresh, exciting, and original. He paints in acrylic but sometimes applies industrial oil into his works, followed by water-based paints or vice versa which provides a slightly different surface feature. A member of Suffolk Open Studios from 39 Lowestoft Road, Worlingham, near Beccles, Suffolk.
