YALLOP, Albert Victor
Albert Victor Yallop, was born at Lowestoft, Suffolk on 23 April and baptised at St Margaret's Church on 3 June 1888, son of George James Yallop (1853-11 January 1914), a fisherman, and his wife Lydia Sarah née Flatman (22 Nov 1856-1933), who married at St Margaret's Church, Lowestoft on 26 December 1876. In 1891, Albert was a 2 year old, living at Dukes Head Street, Lowestoft with his parents, 37 year old James and 33 year old Lydia, with four sibling brothers, Ernest George 11, Birtin Jack 7, John William 3 and newly born Sidney Frank, all born at Lowestoft. Albert was still living at Dukes Street in 1901 but by 1911 had gone to sea as a fisherman. He married at Lowestoft in 1914, Ethel Annie Dunnett (1888-1958) and they had one daughter, Peggy, born in 1924. One of the many amateur 'Pierhead Painters' around Lowestoft at this time. On the 24 January 1934, a builder & decorator, of 6 The Prairee, London Road North, Lowestoft trading as Yallop Bros. of Burton Street, Lowestoft, was declared insolvent. His painting 'Carnation' is in the collection of Lowestoft and East Suffolk Maritime Museum. Albert Victor Yallop died at at Fakenham, Norfolk on 21 July 1969.
