PARTON, Sylvia
As Sylvia Shrapnel, she was born on 26 March 1903, daughter of Arthur and Rosa Shrapnel (21 December 1881-1968) who married at Camberwell, London in 1896. In 1939, Rosa was a widow, living at 43 Royal Road, Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire with her children Donald (26 March 1907-1992) and Sylvia, who was a fishmonger's cashier. Sylvia married at Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham in 1940, Edward Parton (born 24 November 1907) and they had a daughter Wendy, born in 1946. A founder member of the Eye Arts Guild in 1982 and as Sylvia Parton, she exhibited at Ipswich Art Society from Eye, Suffolk in 1997, two pictures 'The Woodshed' and 'Bottles'. Sylvia Parton died at Ipswich on 29 March 2003, aged 100.
