Ancel Morgan

Ancel Morgan was born at Middlesbrough, Yorkshire on 28 January 1930, son of Ancel Morgan (27 September 1895-21 February 1983), an ICI engineer who built grass driers throughout the UK, and his wife Gladys née Wormald (1900-1987), who married at Stockton, Co. Durham in June 1924. Young Ancel married secondly at Sudbury, Suffolk in 1986, Jennifer M. Hazell and they lived at Hamlet House, Cox Hill, Sudbury, Suffolk. Head of the Art department at Wilson Marriage School in Colchester from 1960 until its closure, after a fire, in 1985. A member of Sudbury Creatives artist group and exhibited at the 'Visions of Sudbury' show at St Peter's church, Sudbury, in 2007 two works both entitled 'River Stour-Friars Meadow', in 2009 two oils 'Royal Oak' and 'All Saints Rectory' and in 2013 'Sudbury Market' and a portrait of 'Miss Theodosia Magill'. Ancel Morgan died at his Sudbury home on 15 January 2022.
