Myrtle Beale

As Myrtle A. MacArthur, she married in London in 1962, John E. M. Beale (1938-) and paints under the name of Myrtle Beale. Myrtle has been a keen painter since her schooldays and later in life owned a gallery and a frame workshop, giving her the chance to meet other artists who helped develop her painting skills. Myrtle's work is varied, painting in acrylic, water colour or oil and enjoys experimenting with various mediums and has particular interest in the surface and textures of paintings. Her pictures range from landscapes to semi-abstracts inspired by flowers, the world of nature, her imagination, and a love of vivid colours. She exhibited at Seizmond Gallery, Saxmundham and in October 2018 from Skinner's Grove, Metfield, Suffolk at St Mary's Church Debenham six acrylic paintings 'Teasle Trio', 'Oxeye Daisies', 'Five Cornflowers', 'Autumn Birches', 'Whirlpool' and 'Iris Gathering'.
