Verity Mansfield

As Verity J. Cheeseman, she was born at Lewisham, London in 1965, daughter of Victor Jack Cheeseman (1942-2004) and his wife Valerie G. née Alcock, who married at Lewisham in 1961. Verity married at Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire in 1998, Keith A. Mansfield and paints under the name of Verity Mansfield. Verity studied at North Hertfordshire College 1992-1993, gaining a BTec National Diploma Art & Design Foundation; at The University of Wolverhampton 1994-1997, BA (Hons) Three-dimensional Design, Glass with Woods, Metals and Plastics and at the University of Essex 2008-2010, Master of Arts (MA), Arts in a Social Context and 2010-2012 Professional Graduate Certificate of Education, Art & Design. From 2005 she was a freelance designer and worked as a print designer at The Lavenham Press 2004-2006, a workshop technician/instructor at Colchester School of Art 2006-2012, lecturer in Art & Design at West Suffolk College and at Suffolk One. She lives at Onehouse, near Ipswich in rural Suffolk and fading memories of these places, their disappearing landmarks, objects and characters create a kind of imagined historical narrative, which instigates the lines, silhouettes and structures in her work. She exhibits her work regularly, most recently with Suffolk Showcase 2013 at Smiths Row in Bury St Edmund's, and as part of the East Contemporary Art collection with University Campus Suffolk.
