LAMBERT, William Robert

1890 - 1952

William Robert Lambert was born at Leiston, Suffolk in 1890, son of Edgar Lambert (1864-1946), a boiler maker, and his wife Alice Jane née Goate (1864-1953), who married at Wangford, Suffolk in 1886. In 1911, William was a 20-year-old labourer boiler maker, in the works of Garretts of Leiston. He married at Stoke-on-Trent in 1920, Thirza Bloor (5 January 1890-13 October 1977) and in 1921 was an architect's draughtsman, living at 5 Croston Street, Shelton, Hanley, Staffordshire with his 31-year-old wife Thirza. An amateur artist who painted a Zeppelin being shot down over the Garrett's Leiston Works. William Robert Lambert died at 29 Park Road, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire on 11 March 1952.
