John M Parker

John Michael Parker was born at Hackney, London in 1957, son of Kenneth Charles Parker and his wife Doris R. née Carmoody, who married at Hackney in 1949. John worked as a self-taught artist until studying at the Norwich School of Art, gaining a B.A. (hons) in 2006 and a Diploma in Teaching in the Lifetime Learning Sector (DTLLS) from Norwich University of the Arts in 2009. John has been painting professionally since 1990 using traditional materials and techniques to produce contemporary abstract paintings in his individual style with a varied surface texture and rich vibrant colours. He has exhibited at the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea; Bettie Morton Gallery, 62 Atlantic Road, London SW9; The White Space, 79-81 Borough Road, London and elsewhere. John Parker is a lecturer in Art History & Art Appreciation and a tutor, he has his Studio at Thornham Walks, Eye, Suffolk offering guidance and support to developing artists.
