HALLETT, Nicolette
Nicolette Hallett was born at Bergkirchen, Germany 1946-50. Nicolette went from painting at art school to photography college and had a 30-year career in commercial photography, working for the National Trust, English Heritage, Boosey & Hawkes, Landmark Trust also for architects in leaflet and record photography. A painter in oil, exploring ways to paint landscape which she often photographs and sometimes her photographs re-emerge in a painting, she also works on still-life in charcoal and chalk drawing. Nicolette prefers observational photography and has photographed everything from stonemasons to stately homes and was the photographer for the Gill Heriz's book ‘A Woman’s Shed’. A member of Mellis Arts and of Suffolk Open Studios from Clay Barn, Thrandeston Road, Mellis, Eye, Suffolk, where she has an 'off the peg' shed, which is her painting studio.
