FAIRBAIRN, Gordon Raymond
Gordon Raymond Fairbairn was born at Lambeth, London on 13 February 1922, son of William Arthur Fairbairn (13 July 1891-11 March 1967), a civil servant in the war office, and his wife May Beatrice née Beardow (5 May 1889-2 December 1959), who married at Greenwich, London in 1915, and both died at Ipswich. In 1939, Gordon was a stock clerk in a wine & spirit merchant, living at 53 Further Green Road, Lewisham, London with his parents. Gordon married at Ipswich in 1945, Doris O. Lamb (1922-), who was born at Bury St Edmund's. Three of his paintings are in the Martlesham Control Tower Museum, Ipswich. In 2002 Gordon Raymond Fairbairn was living at 124 Dale Hall Lane, Ipswich and he died at Ipswich on 24 April 2011.
