GEARING, Marjorie Ella
Marjorie Ella Gearing was born at Carlton Colville, Suffolk on 31 January 1908, daughter of William Joseph Gearing (1866-27 September 1936), a fish merchant, and his wife Ella Carrie Buxton (17 January 1878-3 March 1952), daughter of Charles Bacon Buxton, who married at Carlton Colville on 29 December 1896. In 1911, Marjorie was a 3-year-old, living at Beccles Road, Oulton Broad, Suffolk with her parents, 45-year-old William and 33-year-old Ella, and her elder sibling brother Harold. Marjorie exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery in 1928, from Ellerslie, Oulton Broad, Lowestoft, Suffolk. She studied at the Bristol Centre of the Trinity College of Music and in 1936 was living at Stone Cross, Sussex when a member of the Westham Girls' Club and in 1939, a secondary school mistress, living at Oak House, Station Road, Dorking, Surrey. She married late in life in 1975, Norman Levettt Coult (1902-1986). Marjorie Ella Coult died at 'Bramble Down', Woodland Road, Dembury, Newton Abbot, Devon on 8 April 1992.
