COLMAN, Margaret

As Margaret A. Howell, she was born at Norwich in 1941, her mother's maiden name was Patrick. Margaret was educated in Norwich where she married in 1968, Brian G Colman and paints under the name of Margaret Colman. Margaret was taught art by an enthusiastic teacher taking an 'A' level in art in 1984. Margaret has lived in various parts of East Anglia, but also the hills and landscape of both Scotland and Cumbria which feature in her paintings, as does the delicacy of flowers and gardens. She originally painted only in oils but tried her hand at watercolours and after her move to Suffolk continues to paint in all mediums. Her work has been bought by visitors from America, Holland, Japan, and various parts of the UK. She is a Past President of the Bury St Edmund's Arts Society and its Membership Secretary and was a member of the Suffolk Art Society from 12 Turnberry Drive, Fornham St Martin, Bury St Edmund's.
