MORTIMER, Anna
As Anna Hamson, she was born at Bromley, Kent in 1957, daughter of John Edwin Hamson and his wife Mary P. née Thomas, who married at Bromley in 1949. Anna married at Tunbridge Wells, Kent in 1986, Scott Leonard Mortimer (August 1959-) and works under the name of Anna Mortimer. Anna makes constructed textile drawings and is looking to trial larger artworks; her work is poised between the visible and invisible. Anna works in various medium, using drawing as her primary tool with works that are pared down, barely there, spare, and austere. Anna has exhibited at The Cut Halesworth, Suffolk; The Venice Vending Machine, Bristol; The London Art Fair and elsewhere. She has a studio at Unity Cottages, 1 Old Barrack Road, Woodbridge, Suffolk.
