Elizabeth Marsha Kydd was born at Henley, Oxfordshire in 1960, daughter of David Dargie Kydd (16 June 1922-13 June 1981) and his wife Diana H. née Atkins, who married at Kensington, London in 1959. As Marsha Kidd, a semi-abstract artist and a former member of Suffolk Open Studios from Kittles Corner, Cretingham, Woodbridge, Suffolk and from where she exhibited at the Royal Academy.
