Mary-Anne Bartlett

As Felicity Mary Anne Bartlett, she was born at Ipswich in 1969, second daughter of Martin H. Bartlett and his wife Penelope A. née Allwood, who married at East Dereham, Norfolk in 1962. She trained at Ipswich School of Art and studied at University of Exeter 1989-1993, graduating BA in French & Fine Art; at Ecole des Arts Decoratifs de Strasbourg 19901993, graduating DNSEP in Fine Art and at the Chartered Institute of Marketing 19961998, gaining a diploma in marketing. An artist who works under the name of Mary-Anne Bartlett and also runs two travel companies 'Art Safari' an independent travel company specialising in destinations worldwide, for anyone wanting to paint wildlife, people and landscapes, with expert guiding and art tuition, and 'Close Encounters Africa' a tour operator offering tailor made safaris and holidays in Africa and beyond. She travels with her sketchbook, taking in the detail of the world around her while painting and drawing, and teaching others to observe, look, learn and enjoy the wild places and animals, cultures and languages. She is also a co-director of Thornicroft Lodge, a safari lodge set on the banks of the Luangwa River in Mfuwe, Zambia. An artist in watercolour and pencil who is based at 46 Victoria Road, Woodbridge, Suffolk but travels widely both in the UK and Africa.
