REVETT, Eileen
As Eileen W. Fletcher, she was born at Loughborough, Leicestershire in 1943, daughter of Christopher John Fletcher (23 June 1908-11 February 1992) and his wife Agnes Winifred King (5 November 1909-1983), who married at Shardlow, Derbyshire in 1936. Eileen studied Fine Art at University Campus Suffolk in Ipswich and at Colchester School of Art and studied printmaking at Cambridge School of Art, graduating M.A. Eileen married in the Deben district of Suffolk in 1975, Michael Charles Revett (1947-2017) and now works under the name of Eileen Revett. Eileen finds inspiration in the fields of philosophy, meditation, and mathematics, taking ideas from Eastern thoughts in Zen Buddhism where opposites signify one another with repetition a significant feature of her chiefly monochrome woodcut prints. Eileen is a member of Artworks also of Suffolk Open Studios with her studio at Kingston Rise, Broomheath, Woodbridge, Suffolk. She has exhibited at Ruskin Gallery Cambridge; Sudbourne Park Printmakers; Peter Pears Gallery Aldeburgh; Fisher Theatre Bungay; Suffolk Open Studios Showcase, Blackthorpe Barn, Rougham, Long Gallery, Snape Concert Hall and elsewhere.
