Katharine A. Servant, graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, Scotland in 1973 with a BA in Illustration & Printmaking. Katharine trained as a journalist with D. C. Thomson, working on teenage magazines such as 'Blue Jeans' before becoming editor of 'Patches'. She married in 1981, John Servant and moved to Glasgow and was copywriter for Struthers Advertising & Marketing, at the same time she set up 'Supersaver Extra' and was the editor for 11 years. In 1994 she was living at 60 Lion Meadow, Steeple Bumsptead, Haverhill, Suffolk (actually Steeple Bumpstead is in Essex) on the Suffolk/Essex border working as a freelance writer and illustrator, restaurant critic for 'Business Weekly' and painted and wrote about a different East Anglian eating places each week for seven years having three exhibitions of the resulting pictures. A member of the Embroiderers’ Guild but drawing and painting are her first love and she has exhibited at Fibrefusion at Snape Maltings, Suffolk.
