STEWART, Peggy
As Peggy Slater, she was born at Edmonton, London on 20 August 1917, daughter of Joseph St Clair Slater, (30 September 1876-13 May 1942), a wood wool merchant, and his wife Ada Winifred née Lucking (2 February 1888-8 August 1974), who married at Kensington, London in 1913 and in 1921 were living at 115 The Grove, Southgate, Middlesex with their two daughters Joan Winifred 6 and Peggy 3 and by 1939 were living at 101 Thornbury Road, Heston and Isleworth, Middlesex with a daughter Joan Winifred Slater (4 December 1914-22 June 1975). Peggy married at Brentford, Middlesex in 1941, Charles James Stewart (28 October 1914-1986), M.D., B.S., a physician at St Marys Hospital for Women & Children, Upper Road, West Ham, Essex. In 1956 they were living at 159 Henley Road, Ipswich from where she exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 1980, two paintings on china 'Souffle Dish' and 'Round Tile Fuschia'. Peggy Stewart died at 159 Henley Road, Ipswich on 17 September 1989.
