PLANTIN, Olive Lucy

1908 - 1995

As Olive Lucy Burgess, she was born at Wherstead, Ipswich on 25 February 1908, eldest child of Alfred George Burgess (1883-13 August 1937), an engineer's plater, and his wife Alice Lucy née Goodchild (12 March 1888-1966), who married at Samford, Suffolk in 1907 and they lived at 78 Westbourne Road, Ipswich. In 1911, Olive was a 3-year-old, living at 18 Cowell Street, Ipswich with her parents, 27-year-old Alfred, who was born at Ipswich, and 23-year-old Alice, who was born at Foxhall, Ipswich, and her sibling brother, 2-year-old Alfred Herbert Cyril, born at Ipswich on 23 February 1909 and in 1921 they were living at 4 Bourne Terrace, Wherstead, Ipswich with the addition of two more children Gwendoline Nora, born in 1913 and Jean Mary born in 1916. Olive married at Ipswich in 1933, Arthur Edward Plantin (21 August 1904-1985), a letterpress machine minder, and in 1939 they were living at 'Olivedene', Sproughton Road, Ipswich. Olive exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club from 44 Blandford Road, Ipswich in 1980, 'Flowers'. Olive Lucy Plantin died at Flat 18, Bridge View, 9 Davey Close, Ipswich on 29 May 1995.
