1925 - 2015

As Faith Gabrielle Coade, she was born at Hampstead, London in 1925, eldest daughter of Thorold Francis Coade (3 July 1896-1 February 1963), headmaster of Bryanston School, Blandford, Dorset 1932-1959, and his wife Kathleen Eleanor Hardy (27 December 1895-1 May 1989), only daughter of Harold Hugh Hardy of Hampstead, who married at Chapel Royal, Savoy, Westminster, London on 24 August 1922 and in 1939 were living at Bryanston School, Blandford. In 1943 Faith Coade exhibited two sketches 'Rest Cure' at the 'Wings for Victory' at Blandford School savings campaign when she was a teacher at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama in London. She married at Blandford in 1952, as his second wife, Leslie James Widdicombe (1909-1989), Leslie's first wife was Eileen Mary née Price (1913-1951) whom he married at Aldham Church, Hadleigh, Suffolk on 10 July 1937 and who died at Aldham on 7 May 1951. Faith exhibited from Flemish House, Aldham at the Ipswich Art Club in 1977, one picture 'Summer'. Faith Gabrielle Widdicombe died at Hillside, Great Cornard, Sudbury, Suffolk on 6 August 2015, aged 89, which was followed by a Quaker 'Life Celebration' at Friends Meeting House, Friars Street, Sudbury on 11 September. She left two sons and two stepchildren.
