SHORROCK, Rowland Wingfield
Rowland Wingfield Shorrock was born at 14 Newhall Lane, Bolton, Lancashire on 13 November 1913, third child of Walter Shorrock (3 January 1875-5 November 1950), a clerk in an ironworks, and his wife Alice Lillian née Wingfield (1878-1934), who married at Bolton-Le-Moors on 24 February 1903 and in 1921 were living at 233 Greenmount Lane, Bolton, Lancashire with their three children Bessie 17, Stanley 16 and Rowland 7. In 1939, Rowland was an agricultural researcher, living at 23 Chedworth Street, Cambridge and he married at St Nicholas Church, Great Kimble, Buckinghamshire on 26 January 1950, Sheila Grace Scott (11 November 1911-2 March 2003). Rowland exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club from Westwood, Summer Lane, Bromeswell, Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1977, 'Fruit in a Copper Dish', in 1979 'The Garden Fete' and in 1980 'Skiddaw and Overwater' and 'Dish with Apples'. Rowland Wingfield Shorrock died at Bromeswell, Woodbridge on 16 May 1997.
