EISDELL, Alice Marion
Alice Marion Eisdell was born at Ipswich on 6 June 1859, daughter of John Warrington Eisdell (1826-8 March 1861), a solicitor, and his wife Clementia Sarah née Burder (1831-28 June 1910), who married at Bocking, Essex on 10 August 1854. In 1881, Alice was a 21-year-old living at 6 Anglesea Road, Ipswich with her 48-year-old widowed mother, who was born at Bocking, Essex and 23-year-old sibling Ethel, who was born at Ipswich. Alice exhibited at the Ipswich Fine Art Club from 6 Anglesea Road, Ipswich in 1881, four paintings ‘Roses’ and 'A Glass of Flowers' and watercolours 'Swiss Anemones and Moss' and 'Wreath of Swiss Flowers', in 1883 three watercolours 'Group of Anemones and Pansies', 'Group of Dahlias' and 'Foxgloves' and in 1884 she exhibited six painting which were her last exhibits. She married at Hampstead, London on 6 August 1884, Carl Gottlieb Duncklenberg (born 6 August 1859) of Elberfeld, Prussia. Alice Marion Duncklenberg died in Germany on 24 December 1887, leaving one daughter Gretchen, who was born at Elberfeld, near Dusseldorf on 7 June 1886. Alice's will was proven in London.
