EISDELL, Alice Marion

1859 - 1887

Alice Marion Eisdell, was born at Ipswich on 6 June 1859, daughter of John Warrington Eisdell (1826-1861), a lawyer, and his wife Clementia Sarah née Burder (1831-1910), who married at Braintree, Essex in 1854. Alice exhibited at the Ipswich Fine Art Club from 6 Anglesea Road, Ipswich in 1881, four paintings ‘Roses’ and 'A Glass of Flowers' and watercolours 'Swiss Anenomes and Moss' and 'Wreath of Swiss Flowers', in 1883 three watercolours 'Group of Anenomes and Pansies', 'Group of Dahlias' and 'Foxgloves' and in 1884 she exhibited six painting which were her last exhibits. She married at Hampstead, London on 6 August 1884, Carl Gottlieb Duncklenberg (born 6 August 1859) of Elberfeld, Prussia and she died in Germany on 24 December 1887, leaving one daughter Gretchen, who was born at Elberfeld, near Dusseldorf on 7 June 1886. Her will was proven in London.
