WAKELING, Mary
Mary Edith Wakeling was born at Ipswich on 4 September 1922, daughter of George Ernest Wakeling (31 May 1898-28 August 1980), a tyre salesman, and his wife Ivy née Stiff (24 January 1900-1991), who married at Ipswich in 1921 and in 1939 Mary was living with her parents at 57 Medway Road, Ipswich. Mary exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 1942, an oil 'Portrait', in 1943 another oil 'Nanette' and in 1944 'Mary Christine' but was not an associate member of the Ipswich Art Club until 1973-1974+ when she exhibited from 536 Norwich Road, Ipswich in 1974 a watercolour, 'Lynda' and in 1990 she exhibited 'Suffolk Village'. In 2006 she was still living at 536 Norwich Road, Ipswich and Mary Edith Wakeling died at Ipswich on 11 September 2011, she was unmarried.
