MORTIMER, George Richard
George Richard Mortimer, known as Richard, he was born at Brantham, Suffolk on 21 December 1928, son of George Mortimer (4 January 1902-26 November 1942), a telegraph linesman, and his wife Elsie née Barrett (8 April 1901-18 August 1982), who married at Brantham in 1927 and in 1939 were living at Rose Villas, Brantham. Richard was an associate member of the Ipswich Art Club from 1971 and exhibited from Rose Villas, Brantham Hill, near Manningtree, Essex in 1971, a watercolour 'Gasholder, Ipswich', in 1974 three watercolours 'Rookery Farm, Nettlestead', 'Scrapyard Shanty, Ipswich' and 'Sproughton Lock' and in 1980 'Freston Reach'. George Richard Mortimer died at Manningtree on 14 February 2016.
