PRITCHARD, Emilie Gladys
As Emilie Gladys Todd, she was born at Edinburgh on 13 March 1894, daughter of Charles Todd (1848-5 February 1900), a founder member of solicitors, Hope, Todd and Kirk, and his wife Emilie Anne née Baker (1855-3 July 1939). In 1901, Emilie was a 7-year-old, living at 10 Magdala Crescent, Edinburgh with her 45-year-old widowed mother Emilie Anne, with two sibling sisters Caroline Mary 19 and Marjorie Leith 14. Emilie was educated at a boarding school at Elleray Atkins Road, Clapham Park, Wandsworth, London. As his third wife, she married at Banff Scotland in 1927, Arthur George Pritchard (1866-25 August 1933), son of Charles William Pritchard and Caroline Isabella née Gillespie and had a son and a daughter. Emilie lived at Dedham, Essex and where her husband died on 25 August 1933 and in 1939, Emilie was a widow and an apple grower, living at Silverton, Brook Street, Dedham, Essex. As Mrs E. G. Pritchard an associate member of the Ipswich Art Club 1967-1974+ and exhibited from Oak Cottage, Dedham in 1967, an oil portrait 'Rev. H. Vernon Du Rose' and in 1973 from 9 Quay Street, Manningtree, Essex, two oils 'Portrait' and 'Autumn Flowers' and in 1974 a watercolour 'Yucca in Bloom'. Emilie Gladys Pritchard was of 9 Quay Street, Manningtree, Essex when she died on 22 January 1989.
