MERRIAM, Anne
As Anne Teresa Elvery, she was born at Bombay, India on 6 December 1924, only daughter of Lt. Col. Philip Gordon Moss Elvery (29 January 1885-13 February 1961), R.A.M.C., of Barton-on-Sea, Hampshire, and his wife Dorothy Kathleen née Bradford (1 February 1889-11 April 1980), who married at Kensington, London in 1920 and in 1939 were living at Bunny Greek, New Milton, Lymington, Hampshire. Anne married at St Mary Magdalene, Old Milton, New Forest, Hampshire in July 1947, Michael Kennedy Merriam (16 April 1925-1995) of the White House, Langham, Colchester, and they had one son and one daughter. An associate member of the Ipswich Art Club 1967-1974 and as Anne Merriam exhibited from The Old Vicarage, Higham, Colchester in 1968, three oil paintings 'House on the Marshes', 'Design with Maize' and 'Reed Harvest, Ranworth', and in 1969 an oil 'Fresh Herring' but does not seem to have exhibited again. In 2002 she was living at Sturminster Newton, Dorset. Anne Teresa Merriam died at Sturminster Newton on 24 September 2010.
