RING, Jessie Margaret
As Jessie Margaret Humbert, she was born at Epsom, Surrey on 8 December 1915, daughter of Owen Johnston Humbert (30 August 1885-7 March 1965), a solicitor, and his wife Jessie Aird Abernethy (25 July 1891-24 April 1986), daughter of George Abernethy of Broom Hall, Oxshott, who married at St Andrew's Church, Oxshott, Surrey on 19 April 1913. In 1921 Jessie was living at The Red House, Skinners Lane, Ashtead, Surrey with her parents and two siblings Malcolm Owen Abernthy 6 and newly born Christine Anne. In 1939 Jessie was living with her parents at Warren Wood, Ashtead, Leatherhead and she married at Ashtead Parish Church, Leatherhead in September 1940, Flt. Lieut. Spencer Leonard Ring (1910-1979). Jessie was a member of the Ipswich Art Club from 1964 in which year she exhibited from Garden Cottage, Campsea Ashe, Woodbridge, Suffolk, an oil painting 'Suffolk Scene' and the following year, two oils 'Winter near Rendlesham' and 'November Roses' and was a regular exhibitor, exhibiting three oils in 1973 'Aldeburgh', 'Still Life' and 'Tide Mill'. In 1985 she exhibited from 30 Bredfield Road, Melton, Woodbridge, four paintings 'Summer Garden', 'Marlesford', 'Suffolk Farm' and 'Iken'. Her husband Spencer Leonard King, who was a Canadian, died at Melton, Woodbridge on 13 May 1979 and Jessie Margeret Ring died at Chichester, Sussex on 6 September 1999.
