HOLLAND, Catherine

1887 - 1979

Catherine Holland, was born at Stepney, London on 22 September 1887, only child of William Holland (1864-5 August 1907), a solicitor's clerk, and his wife Eliza née Rigg. In 1901, a 13 year old, living at 53 Malvern Road, Cann Hall, West Ham, Essex with her parent's, 37 year old William and 40 year old Eliza. Her father died at 52 Dover Road, Wanstead Park Estate, Manor Park, Essex on 5 August 1907 and where in 1911 her widowed mother was living with 23 year old Catherine a shorthand typist. An associate member of the Ipswich Art Club 1961-1972, and exhibited from Flat 4, St Andrew's House, Rushmere St Andrew, near Ipswich in 1962, a watercolour 'On a Suffolk Farm', in 1965 two watercolours 'The Fair' and 'Study of Trees' and in 1967 'Wallflowers'. Catherine died at Flat 5, St Andrews House, Rushmere St Andrew, Ipswich on 7 February 1979, she was unmarried.
