HART, Arthur Reginald Glendower

Arthur Reginald Glendower Hart was born at Thames Ditton, Surrey on 7 February 1890, only child of Arthur William Hart (1861-26 April 1933), an assistant Master of London County Council School, and his wife Bertha née Bird (1865-29 May 1948), who married at Marylebone, London in 1885. In 1911, young Arthur was a 21-year-old articled surveyor, living at 65 Milson Road, Hammersmith, London with his parents, 49-year-old Arthur and 45-year-old Bertha. Arthur married at Kensington, London in 1926, Iris Gertrude Alice Goose (21 June 1895-18 September 1986) and had a least one daughter Rona Margaret, born c.1928. He worked for the Colonial Government in Uganda. An associate member of the Ipswich Art Club 1957-1969 and exhibited from Chapel Cottage, Aldringham, Suffolk in 1957 three watercolours, 'Cloud over Camelot', 'Castle Beach' and 'The Alde Estuary, Orford', and in 1958 two pictures, an oil 'Michaelmas Bouquet' and a tempura 'Orford'. In 1960 he exhibited a watercolour 'The Rocks, Trebarwith', 1961 an oil 'Sunrise over the Alde, Iken' and a watercolour 'Chrysanthemums' but did not exhibit after 1963. Arthur Reginald Glendower Hart died at Chapel Cottage, The Fens, Aldringham-cum-Thorpe, Suffolk on 20 December 1969.
