HIGGINS, Monica Mary
Monica Mary Higgins was born at Islington, London on 17 July 1890, daughter of Alexander Higgins (1854-1919), an elementary school teacher. In 1911, Monica was a 20-year-old embroiderer, living at 7 Ladysmith Road, West Ham, London with her 56-year-old widowed father Alexander and her siblings Kathleen Anastasia 23, Eileen Marguerite 16 and Bernard 15, all born in London. In 1939, Monica was an unmarried embroiderer, still living at 7 Ladysmith Road, West Ham, Essex with her two unmarried sisters Kathleen (22 January 1888-23 November 1963) and Eileen (17 June 1894-15 April 1983). As 'Mrs' M. Higgins, a member of the Ipswich Art Club 1942-1945, from 116 Britannia Road, Ipswich but does not seem to have exhibited. Monica Mary Higgins died at 72 Peterhouse Crescent, Woodbridge, Suffolk on 27 September 1972, she was unmarried.
