LANE, Cicely Frances D'Albiac
Cicely Frances D'Albiac Lane was born on 20 November 1912 and baptised at Transvaal, South Africa on 29 December 1912, daughter of Harold D'Albiac Lane (1874-18 May 1922) and his wife Cicely Rose Muriel née Cunynghame (10 August 1876-31 March 1956), who married at Transvaal on 22 December 1910. As C. F. D. Lane, a member of the Ipswich Art Club 1942-1946, exhibiting from 52 Tuddenham Road, Ipswich in 1942 two works, 'November, Christchurch Park' and 'Willow', in 1943 three works an oil 'Pond Hall Farm', 'Cloud Study' and 'Spring in Kew Gardens', in 1944 two works 'Late Spring, Chantry Park' and 'Evening in Cottage Gardens' and in 1945 six paintings, 'Ken Wood, Hampstead', 'Beech and Blossom', 'Blue Cedar', a second 'Beech and Blossom', 'Finn Valley' and 'Autumn Harmony, Tuddenham Road'. Cicely married at Hampstead, London in 1946, Gerald George Eugene Thistlethwaite (9 November 1909-9 February 1987), a leather merchant. Cicely Frances D'Albiac Thistlethwaite died at Flat 1, 9 Heath Drive, Camden, London N.W.3 on 11 March 1993.
