GLOVER, Elizabeth [Betty] Florence Emma

1883 - 1967

As Elizabeth Florence Emma Cook, she was born at 13 Little Barclay Street, Ipswich on 8 May 1883 and baptised at St Michael's Church, Ipswich on 1 July 1883, daughter of Robert Stephen Cook (1857-1908), a foundryman, and his wife Emma Moyse née Smith, who married at Ipswich in 1882. She married at Ipswich in 1911, Ernest Albert Glover (13 June 1890-13 April 1987), a tax officer, and in 1939 they were living at 'Almond', Belstead, Ipswich. As Betty Glover, an associate member of Ipswich Art Club 1942-1962 exhibiting from 220 Felixstowe Road, Ipswich in 1941 three works 'The Lady in Blue', 'Portrait of Jenny' and 'Evacuated', in 1942 'Cineraria', 'Road near Tuddenham', 'The Willow Pattern Jug' and 'Biddy, West Highland Terrier', in 1943 two oils 'Gardenias' and 'Willy Lot's Cottage, Flatford', in 1944 'Patricia' and 'Flower Study', in 1945, an oil painting 'River Scene', in 1946 'Roses', in 1947 a watercolour 'Primula' and her last exhibit was of two paintings in 1953 'The Holy Family' and 'The Lily Pool, Chantry Park'. Elizabeth Florence Emma Glover died at Ipswich in 1967.
