SIMPSON, Sadie Violet
Sadie Violet Simpson, was born at 11 Alexandra Mew, Folkestone, Kent on 19 November 1911, daughter of William Simpson (1 August 1869-1918), a bath chair proprietor, and his wife Maud Lilian (Bessie) née Crook (16 February 1879-1944), who married at Christ Church, Folkestone on 24 October 1898 and in April 1911 were living at 11 Alexandra Mew, Folkestone, 42 year old William and 32 year old Maud Lilian, who was born at Campinas, Brazil and their two daughters, Ivy Annie 11 and Ethel Dorothy Matilda 10, both born at Folkestone. Sadie was a member of the Ipswich Art Club in 1938, exhibiting from Annadale Cottage, Melton Road, London NW 7, a watercolour 'Aldeburgh Moot Hall'. She married in London in 1939, Percy Houchin (27 October 1913-15 September 2012), an assistant export manager, and in 1939 they were living at 202 Uphall Road, Ilford, Essex. Sadie Violet Houchin died at Ilford, Essex in 1998.
