TAYLOR, Elizabeth Rebecca

As Elizabeth Rebecca Watson, she was born at Colchester, Essex about 1831, daughter of Thomas Watson and his wife Rebecca. She married at Stepney, London in 1854, Samuel Shead (1794-1868) and in 1861, a 30 year old married woman, a visitor at Middle Hill Road, Colchester with her children 5 year old Emma and 7 month old Elizabeth. As Elizabeth Rebecca Shead, a widow, she married secondly at Hampstead, London in 1870, William Frederick Taylor and in 1871, a 40 year old, living at Back Lane, Colchester with 25 year old William, a railway clerk, two step-daughters, Emma 15 and Ellen 6, and about 1873 they moved to Ipswich but by 1881 they had moved on to Ravensmeer, Beccles where 36 year old William, born Holton, Suffolk, was a brewer's clerk with his 50 year old wife Elizabeth, his step-daughter Ellen 16, and daughter Harriet Adelaide 9, both born at Colchester and a son William Watson 7, born Ipswich. Elizabeth was a member of the Ipswich Art Club in 1875 when she exhibited from Ipswich, 'Cottages at Lavenham'. She died at Edmonton, London in 1885, aged 54.
