SMITH, Sidney Herbert

1867 - 1930

Sidney Herbert Smith, was born at Aston, Birmingham in 1867. In 1911, a 43 year old artist, living at Northcote, The Avenue, Trimley St Martin, Felixstowe, Suffolk with his 79 year old widowed mother Mary Ann Smith, who was born Walsall, Staffordshire. He exhibited at the London Salon in 1909 and was a member of the Ipswich Art Club 1919-1922 and exhibited from Northcote, The Avenue, Trimley St Mary in 1920, 'Mountain, North Wales' and 'A Sussex Landscape'. By 1925 Robert Pyke was living at Northcote, Trimley. Sidney was of 2 Station Road, Trimley St Mary when he died at St Audrey's Hospital, Melton, Woodbridge, Suffolk on 6 September 1930.
