STOLLERY, Vanessa

As Vanessa Karin Barber, she was born at Colchester, Essex in June 1954, her mother’s maiden name was Villinger. Vanessa married at Ipswich in 1973, Michael James Stollery and works under the name of Vanessa Stollery. After many years working in marketing, Vanessa went to college to study for an illustration degree, and whilst having a year out, began studying with a local sculptor. She now works from her own studio at Brandeston near Woodbridge, Suffolk, translating her knowledge and love of animals into Bronze and Iron resins. Vanessa captures the movement and essence of her subjects with sensitivity and her work ranges from small table-top pieces to life-size images which are equally at home in gardens or interiors, demonstrating her great artistic versatility. Her work has been commissioned not only from the UK but from all over the world - Dubai, Australia, USA, Canada and Europe and she has her work in many private collections.
