WILKINSON, Sidney Davis
Sidney Davis Wilkinson was born at Great Horton, Bradford, Yorkshire on 21 May 1901, son of Thomas William Wilkinson and his wife Annie née Sharp (1873-1917), who married at Bradford in 1900 and moved to Ipswich about 1904. In 1911, Sidney was a 9-year-old, living at 6 Blenheim Road, Ipswich with his parents, 35-year-old Thomas and 37-year-old Annie, his 8-year-old sibling brother Harry and Thomas's 76-year-old widowed mother Mary Wilkinson, all born in Bradford. Sidney married at Kingston, Surrey in 1929, Doris Leicester Holland (18 February 1903-24 August 1993) and had issue. In 1939, a time clerk, living at 12 Castle Road, Ipswich with his wife Doris, a schoolteacher and their children. Probably instructed in art by his father and was an honorary member of the Ipswich Art Club 1951-1967 but does not seem to have exhibited. Sidney Davis Wilkinson died at 12 Castle Road, Ipswich on 11 December 1984.
