SPILLER, Pamela

1924 - 2007

As Pamela Joan Grimwood, she was born at Bengal, India in 1924, daughter of Thomas Sparkes Grimwood, an engineer, and his wife Marjorie Irene Victoria née Last (1897-1934), who married at St Edward the Confessor, Romford, Essex on 26 February 1917. Pamela married at Marylebone, London in 1945, Josiah Lewis Spiller (11 November 1913-13 July 1986), a solicitor, and they had a daughter Caroline Jane Vere, and three sons David Malcolm Vere Spiller; Michael Vere Spiller and Jeremy Peter Jeffrey Vere. A member of the Ipswich Art Club 1969-1990 and exhibited from Annesley, Great Bealings, near Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1969, an oil 'Last Summers' and a watercolour 'Tree Space' and again in 1972 an oil 'Evergreen'. By 1978 she had moved to Barn Pightle, Great Bealings from where she exhibited regularly, including in 1990 'Nightfall on the Deben'. Pamela Joan Spiller died at Great Bealings on 28 May 2007, aged 88.
