SCOTT, Ivan Bertram
Ivan Bertram Scott was born at Ipswich on 28 June 1921, son of Thomas Bertram Scott (1881-15 May 1932), an innkeeper, and his second wife Florence Adeline née Goddard (28 June 1891-6 July 1972), who married at St Mary's Church, Witnesham, near Ipswich on 24 June 1915 and kept the Emperor Inn on Norwich Road, Ipswich. Thomas's had married his first wife Annie Esther Page, third daughter of the late William B Page of Commercial Road, Lowestoft at St Margaret's Church Lowestoft on 13 April 1902. In 1921 Thomas was living at 293 Norwich Road, Ipswich with his two children and Florence's stepchildren, Ida 17 and Kenneth 13 and in 1939 Florence was a widow living at 520 Norwich Road, Ipswich. Ivan was a watercolour painter and a member of the Ipswich Art Club from 1948 but had exhibited from 11 Ashcroft Road, Ipswich in 1947 'Portrait of an Indian Sweeper' and in 1948 'Italian Farmer', in 1949 three works 'Guy Fawkes Night', 'Holy Trinity Church, Coventry' and 'Tronla', in 1950 'Burma' and 'Bablake Hospital' which seem to have been his last. He married at Ipswich in 1975, Stena Mary A. Lockwood, née Clover (born 1947) later Lamont. Ivan Bertram Scott died at 57 Acton Road, Bramford, Ipswich on 2 June 1989.
