KERSEY, Vera Maud
Vera Maud Kersey was born at Beccles, Suffolk on 20 May 1912, daughter of Harriet Kate Kersey (1870-1938). In 1921, Vera was 'stepdaughter' to Herbert Hart, a bricklayer's labourer, and his wife Elsie and two other children or stepchildren, living at 21 Theatre Street, Woodbridge, Suffolk. In 1939, a domestic worker in the home of grocer John Tyson and his wife, at 74 Thoroughfare, Woodbridge. An associate member of the Ipswich Art Club 1942-1962 and as Miss V M Kersey exhibited in 1943 two oil paintings, 'Low Tide, R. Orwell' and 'Freston', two in 1944 'Evening' and 'View from Freston Hill' and from The School House, Bentley, near Ipswich in 1952 a watercolour, 'A Peep, Lulworth, Dorset'. Vera Maud Kersey died at 'Thorneycroft', Great Bealings, Ipswich in 1971, she was unmarried.
