HAWTHORN, Victor Henry
Victor Henry Hawthorn was born at Colchester, Essex on 27 June 1915, son of Henry Hawthorn (21 September 1889-11 December 1963) and his wife Laura Louise née Dayman (21 March 1891-30 July 1975) who married at St Mary the Virgin, Walthamstow on 5 September 1914. In 1934 Victor passed his part one intermediate examination at the Institute of Chartered Surveyors followed by part two the following year, but in 1939 Victor was a member of the London Fire Brigade, living at 137 Endlebury Road, Chingford, Essex with his parents and his sibling sister Alma Laura [Coote]. During the Second World War, Victor served in the Royal Engineers at Colchester, and he married at Epping, Essex in 1957, Ivy Isabel Anderson (17 August 1912-30 January 2002). An artist in oil and a member of the Ipswich Art Club 1960-1973, exhibiting from 'Easterly', The Street, Tending, Essex in 1969, 'Roses' and 'In Bere Forest, Hampshire', in 1970 'Roses', in 1971 'Mr A. Brazier', in 1972 'Evening at Brightlingsea', 'At Heybridge Basin' and 'Papillon', in 1973 'Betty', 'Sunlight and Shadows' and 'Lilies'. Victor Henry Hawthorn died at Easterley, The Street, Tendring, Essex on 27 December 1973.
