EVERETT, Frederick
Frederick Everett was born at 16 The Villa, Bexley Road, Erith, Kent on 2 March 1863, and baptised at Shoreditch on 2 January 1864, son of Edwin Alfred Everett (1834-8 January 1867) and his wife Clara née Stone (1831-1905), who married at St Pancras, London on 21 September 1859. In 1871, Frederick was an 8-year-old, still living at Erith with his 38-year-old mother Clara, now a widow, and his elder brother Edwin Alfred (1860-1897) and in 1891, was a 28-year-old artist, at the same address with his 57-year-old mother and siblings, 24-year-old Penelope Mary Goodman, an art student, and 26-year-old Ernest, a medical student. Where he obtained his art instruction, if any, is not yet known and in 1911, was an unmarried 47-year-old artist, living at Evergreen Cottage, Fairseat, near Wrotham, Kent. He married at Maidenhead, Berkshire in 1917, Gwendoline Flora Graves Everett née de Medewe, and they had three children, Nancye Clara, Gilbert Frederick Stone de Medewe and Edwin Henry. Frederick exhibited at Royal Society of British Artists from 16 The Villas, Erith, Kent in 1882, an oil 'A Study from the Artist' and at the Royal Academy and the Walker Art Gallery. In the 1920s he moved to North Suffolk where he became a farmer and was a member of the Ipswich Art Club 1935-1945, exhibiting from Hollybush Farm, Brampton, near Beccles, Suffolk in 1935, 'An Old Barn, Suffolk' and in 1936 'The Stack Yard' and 'Farm Buildings and Trees'. In 1939, a married estate agent & farmer, living at Holly Bush Farm, Brampton, Beccles, his wife was at Culverstone, Lindenwood, Strood, Kent. Frederick Everett died at Station Cottages, Brampton on 27 May 1954, aged 91, being described as 'artist'.
