COBBOLD, Harry George
Harry George Cobbold was born at Bradfield St George, Suffolk on 23 April 1889 and baptised on 2 June 1889, son of George William Cobbold (1 May 1862-26 January 1940) and his wife Isabel née Smith (1869-1926), who married at Hawstead, Suffolk in 1887 and in 1939 George was a widower living at Lodge Gate No. 1, Bradfield St Clare, Suffolk. In 1901, Harry was an 11-year-old, living at Great Green, Bradfield St George with his parents, 38-year-old George and 34 [sic] Isabel, who was born at Hawstead, Suffolk, with siblings Beatrice 9, Ethel 6, Herbert 4 and Georgina 2, all born at Bradfield St George but by 1911 Harry was a 22-year-old journeyman miller, living at 2 Mill Road, Chelmsford, Essex, the home of 68 year old widow, Emma Appleton. Harry married at Willesden, Middlesex in 1925, Lucy Collins Mitchell (27 June 1888-29 March 1972), they had no issue. A painter in oil and watercolour of landscapes and rural scenes and a member of the Ipswich Art Club 1932-1936, and exhibited from 54 Burrell Road, Ipswich in 1933 five works, ‘Burgh Mill, Norfolk’, 'Sunshine Vitamins' and watercolours ‘Cattle Sense’, 'The Bury Ipswich Road, via Felsham' and 'Interior'. In 1939, a consulting millwright, giving his birth year as 1888, living at 54 Burrell Road, Ipswich with his wife Lucy. Harry George Cobbold was of 54 Burrell Road, Ipswich when he died at Stow Lodge Hospital, Stowmarket, Suffolk on 12 March 1963.
